Within the study programme East European Languages and Cultures you can choose from five minors. In principle, taking a minor other than these five is not allowed. Only in exceptional cases and with substantiation, can you propose a minor from another study programme of the faculty.

The minor amounts to 15 ECTS credits in the standard learning track (with a semester abroad). You will see that most minors amount to a lot more course units. In your master's programme, you can choose to continue the minor.

Once you have made your choice of a minor, you will select the course units from the minor. In doing so, you need to take into account the starting competencies of the different course units (to be found in the course sheets).

In case of a standard learning track, you take the full 15 ECTS credits of your minor in the second year of the standard learning track (BA2). In case of a personalised learning track (GIT), you can spread it out.

Think carefully when choosing a minor. It may be relevant for additional studies after your Bachelor's or Master's degree in East European Languages and Cultures. In that case, it is best to choose course units in function of a consecutive preparatory programme. So make sure you are well informed before making a choice.
